Doctor software in Bangladesh is priced unevenly. Some vendors publish taka figures, some keep them behind a demo, and a few sell a one-time licence instead of a subscription. We read the pricing pages of twelve vendors in October 2026 and put every figure in one table, with the page it came from. Prescriply publishes this page and is one of the products compared; the note at the end says how a vendor can ask for a correction. The BM&DC register held 134,568 physicians and 14,323 dentists as of 2024, as reported by Prothom Alo.
What does prescription software cost in Bangladesh in 2026?
Among the twelve vendors we read, ten publish a monthly price. Entry paid plans cost ৳350 to ৳1,500 a month, and eight of them sit between ৳500 and ৳1,000. Seven of the twelve also give a free tier or free access. One-time offline licences start at ৳5,000. Figures are list prices read in October 2026.
Prices are list prices as published, in taka. Read the vendor’s own page for VAT, setup fees and discounts before you decide; the sources are linked in every row.
Which prescription software is free in Bangladesh?
Seven of the twelve vendors give a free tier or free access. Five cap it: ChamberBD (10 prescriptions a day), Doctors Canvas (50 prescriptions a month), CloudRx (30 prescriptions), ZilSoft's GP-AID programme (50 prescriptions a month, new physicians only) and E-Prescription App (5 prescriptions a day). MedicBD (Prescriber®) and DoctorOS Solo are free for doctors who prove BMDC registration.
Free: unlimited prescriptions and settlement. AI assist is pay-as-you-go. Patient SMS is free within a published fair-use limit. The published fair-use ceiling is 500 prescriptions a day and 3,000 a month; the SMS limits are on the pricing page. If what is free ever changes, we will tell every doctor at least 30 days before the change takes effect, and post the date on the pricing page.
What do paid plans add, and what costs extra?
Paid plans differ on five things that change the real monthly bill: prescription volume, chambers and helper accounts, the AI allowance, text messages, and setup fees or VAT. Each point below comes from the vendor’s own page, so open the linked source before you rely on it.
- Volume. CloudRx’s three paid plans differ only by prescription volume: up to 1,000, 2,000 or 3,000 (crxbd.com/pricing (opens in a new tab)). Doctors Canvas caps its two paid plans at 100 and 200 prescriptions a month (doctorscanvas.com/pricing (opens in a new tab)).
- Chambers and helpers. ChamberBD’s Standard allows 1 chamber and 1 staff account, Pro allows 3 and 3, and Premium is unlimited (chamberbd.com/pricing (opens in a new tab)). Doctors Canvas allows 2 and 5 assistant accounts on its two paid plans.
- AI. Doctors Canvas gives 200 and 600 AI suggestions a month on its paid plans. CloudRx says AI is included on every plan. ProtonEMR sells AI dictation recharges of ৳100 to ৳1,000, charged only for successful processing (protonemr.com.bd/pricing (opens in a new tab)).
- Text messages. CloudRx sells SMS separately at usually ৳0.20 to ৳0.60 each and email at ৳0.05 each. ZilSoft charges ৳0.8 per SMS (zilsoft.net/pricing (opens in a new tab)). E-Prescription App charges ৳0.50 per SMS with a minimum purchase of 1,000 SMS (৳500) (eprescriptionapp.com (opens in a new tab)).
- Setup fees and VAT. Doctor Prescription Software BD adds a one-time ৳10,000 development fee to its ৳1,000 online plan (doctorprescriptionsoftwarebd.com (opens in a new tab)). ShifaSoft charges a ৳5,000 setup fee on its Clinic level and says all its prices exclude VAT (shifasoft.com/prescription (opens in a new tab)).
Is a one-time licence cheaper than a monthly plan?
Three vendors sell a one-time offline licence at ৳5,000: ZilSoft (per PC), Bissoy (a limited-time price, listed at ৳10,000) and Doctor Prescription Software BD. Sara Software lists a plan at ৳1,000 a month, so ৳5,000 equals 5 months of it, and a licence is cheaper after that if one computer and no internet features are enough.
Offline editions have limits. Bissoy says its offline edition runs on one device with no SMS, no online serial and no sync (bissoy.com/prescription-software (opens in a new tab)), and ZilSoft sells syncing separately as Cloud-SYNC at ৳500 a month (zilsoft.net/pricing (opens in a new tab)). For the connectivity side of the choice, read cloud vs offline prescription software.
What does Prescriply cost?
Free: unlimited prescriptions and settlement. AI assist is pay-as-you-go. Patient SMS is free within a published fair-use limit. See the fair-use limits. If what is free ever changes, we will tell every doctor at least 30 days before the change takes effect, and post the date on the pricing page.
Free includes every tool, the full chamber revenue and settlement engine and one assistant seat. AI assist is pay-as-you-go with prepaid credits, and the price is shown before each AI action. New doctors get ৳30 of AI credit once, to try AI assist. Plus is an optional add-on: ৳199 for 30 days or ৳1,990 for 365 days (save ৳398), VAT included. On a plan you pay for yourself it adds ৳200 of AI credit every 30 days (12 times on a 365-day plan), and unlimited assistant seats while the plan is running. A plan you buy never renews by itself; you renew with one tap. Everything listed in the Free plan stays in the Free plan. The payment page (EPS) may add about 2% of its own fee to what you pay. Full terms are on the pricing page.
How do I work out what prescription software will really cost me?
To compare plans fairly, price the same things at every vendor: your real prescription volume, the chambers and helpers you need, the extras billed on top, and a full year of cost. Then test on a free tier before paying. The five steps below show how.
- Count your prescriptions. Note how many you write on a busy day and in a month, then compare that with each plan's cap, which is per day on some plans and per month on others.
- Count chambers and helpers. List the chambers you work in and the assistants who need their own login. Plans cap both, and a second chamber is often what moves a doctor to a higher plan.
- Add what the monthly price leaves out. Text messages, AI use, setup or development fees, and VAT where a page says its prices exclude it are billed on top at several vendors.
- Price a whole year. Use the yearly price where one is shown. For a one-time licence, divide it by the months you expect to use it, and check what an offline edition cannot do.
- Test on the free tier or trial first. Write real prescriptions on a free tier or a trial, and confirm the plan still fits your day before you pay for it.
Frequently asked questions
Is there free prescription software in Bangladesh?
Yes. Five of the twelve vendors we read offer a free tier with a cap, and two are free for doctors who prove BMDC registration. Prescriply: Free: unlimited prescriptions and settlement. AI assist is pay-as-you-go. Patient SMS is free within a published fair-use limit.
The caps are listed in the table above, each with its source. If what is free ever changes, we will tell every doctor at least 30 days before the change takes effect, and post the date on the pricing page.
What is the lowest published price for paid prescription software in Bangladesh?
Among the twelve vendors we read in October 2026, the lowest monthly price published was ৳350 (E-Prescription App). CloudRx and Bissoy list ৳500 a month. ChamberBD and ProtonEMR list ৳700 a month. Doctors Canvas lists ৳1,500, the highest entry price in the table.
E-Prescription App's page also shows a yearly price that works out at a lower monthly figure; the table gives both. A low price can exclude text messages, AI and setup, so check the steps below before comparing.
Is a one-time licence better than a monthly plan?
It depends on the machine and the connection. A licence of ৳5,000 equals five months of Sara Software's ৳1,000 plan, so it is cheaper after five months if one computer and no internet features are enough. The licence prices come from ZilSoft, Bissoy and Doctor Prescription Software BD.
Bissoy says its offline edition runs on one device with no SMS, no online serial and no sync, and ZilSoft sells syncing separately as Cloud-SYNC. Both pages are linked in the sources below.
Do these prices include VAT?
Only ShifaSoft states that its prices exclude VAT. The other pages we read do not say either way, so ask the vendor before you pay. Prescriply adds no VAT at checkout. Compare the final total on each vendor's payment page, not only the list price.
Are text messages and AI included in the monthly price?
Usually not. CloudRx sells SMS from a separate balance but says AI is included on every plan; ZilSoft and E-Prescription App charge per SMS; ProtonEMR sells AI dictation recharges. At Prescriply, patient SMS is free within a published fair-use limit and AI assist is pay-as-you-go.
The vendor pages are linked in the sources below. The fair-use limits for Prescriply are 500 prescriptions a day and 3,000 a month for prescriptions, and the SMS limits are on the pricing page.
How often do these prices change?
Without notice. At least one vendor changed its plan names and free-plan limits between our September and October 2026 readings. We read every page again before changing a figure, and each row of the table links its source and carries the read date.
